What is the IVDD on a dog?
Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) is an age-related, degenerative condition. However certain, 'at-risk' dogs (chondrodystrophic breeds and crosses) can suffer disc problems from when they are young adult dogs. Disc degeneration is thought to occur because of loss of the disc to “hold water” becoming dehydrated.

The KindlyDogs Back Brace was developed through years of research alongside a panel of veterinary doctors. Two factors that separate our braces from other dog back braces are the following:
1. Rigid stays are strategically placed in the brace to safely guide your dog's spine while your dog is recovering from IVDD. This will help to reduce the pain and the perpetual IVDD cycle.
2. Our brace spans the entire length of your dog's back, supporting 3 major regions: thoracic, lumbar and sacral. Some dog back braces only support through the thoracic and lumbar regions.
Whether you choose our brace or another brace, a "good" dog back brace should support the thoracic, lumbar, and sacral regions.
Dog Back Brace for IVDD are ideal for:
The ideal IVDD back support will protect a pet's thoracic, lumbar, and sacral spine. The vertebraVe features a special lumbar support system that supports a dog's lower back from above and below.
Although a back brace will not cure IVDD or a disc condition, it can provide comfort and protection to help alleviate your pet's back pain.
